Program Description:

This spellbinding presentation is a magical prescription for children’s giggles, wiggles and healthy smiles!

Since the beginning of time Toothena the Tooth Fairy has collected teeth and left coins under children’s pillows. Although she is normally only seen in the enchanted moment between sleep and waking, she has decided to make herself visible to help stop the rise of tooth decay in children.

In character as Toothena the Tooth Fairy, CoraMarie reads Emily’s Magical Journey with Toothena the Tooth Fairy, and gives an interactive presentation that helps children:

  • Develop habits of good oral hygiene through a dramatization of brushing and flossing
  • See the magic in all they do
  • Learn the importance of giving
  • Make a difference through Project Tooth Fairy.

Children leave Toothena’s presentation with a better understanding of the importance of oral health – for both themselves and girls and boys around the world.

Videoconference Outline:

  • Welcome
  • Read aloud: Emily’s Magical Journey with Toothena the Tooth Fairy
  • Interactive presentation on how to brush and floss your teeth
  • Giving and Project Tooth Fairy
  • Questions

Pre-Videoconference Activities:

  • Complete ‘tooth’ name tag. Have student write their name on the tooth template provided. Cut out the tooth, hole punch the top dark circle and put either string or dental floss through the hole. Students can wear the name tags around their necks during the presentation, and take them home as a keepsake following the presentation.
  • Complete the Brushing up with Toothena the Tooth Fairy worksheet to get students prepared for and excited about the presentation.
  • Generate a list of questions you'd like to ask Toothena. Each school will have an opportunity to ask at least one question - - but preparing several, we can ensure questions aren't repeated.

Special Instructions for Teachers:

As it is National Tooth Fairy Day on February 28th, we are encouraging schools to hold a Tooth Brush Drive in support of The Tooth Fairy Children’s Foundation. Students can bring a toothbrush(s) for the Tooth Brush Drive to help children in need. The Drive could be held for the week leading up to National Tooth Fairy Day.

Following the presentation, these toothbrushes can be shipped to The Tooth Fairy Children’s Foundation; where they will be distributed worldwide to children in need. To see the countries the Foundation has already donated toothbrushes to, visit http://www.toothfairykids.org/ProjectsAbroad.html.
