GETTING THE WORD OUT
What's the best way to sell lemonade? Get the word out! And what better way to do that than a poster?
Here's a chance to have your students dabble in advertising by creating posters to attract customers to their lemonade stand.
Have each student (or interested students) design a poster on 8.5 X 11 white paper. Posters should include:
- A catchy slogan
- Original artwork related to your school's lemonade stand celebration
- Information about the lemonade stand
- Where is the stand?
- When is lemonade being sold?
- How much is a cup of lemonade? (We encourage sites to sell lemonade for a donation, but some schools may choose to ask for a flat rate - - i.e. 50 cents).
- Who benefits from the funds raised through lemonade sales
- Students may use markers, colored pencils or crayons in developing their posters.Posters should NOT be three dimensional - - as the winning entries will need to be scanned into a computer.
Each school participating in the poetry contest should select one poster contest winner who best addresses the above criteria. That poster should be scanned as a JPEG image and emailed to Heather Weisse. Click here to download the judging rubric.
Send your school's winning entry to Heather Weisse via email no later than Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Entries will become part of our virtual mural and will be posted on this website. Entries will be evaluated based on the criteria above by a team of educators. The winning entry will be featured on the Alex's Lemonade Website!
