Inner World Discovery (Nursing Students, Pre-Med Students, Pre-Service Teachers) Designed by St. Joseph's Medical Center emergency room doctor Phillip Silverstein, the “Inner World Discovery” program is a multimedia journey through the human body. With Dr. Silverstein as their guide, students participating in this session will experience the wonder, intricacies and elegance of the human body’s immune system. This interactive videoconference presentation will make the complexities of understanding the immune system accessible to students and will make real the devastating effects of HIV. This program is scaled for high school and community college classes. Find out more. Internet2 NetTurns Program (Higher Education) Internet2's network based internship ("neternship") provides a small group of students the opportunity to interact with students and faculty from other campuses through a distributed programming project. During the course of the neternship, students will be introduced to collaborative tools that are currently in use across Internet2 and the commodity Internet. This is an opportunity for students to get hands on experience in advanced network programming fundamentals. More information... Swiss (Inter-)National Learning Object Repository This presentation was first made at the European University Information Systems, (EUNIS) Conference in Grenoble, France in July 2007. The EC has experienced social and political pressures that have led to advanced uses of the network for online learning between universities in all the member nations. This presentation will be most beneficial to higher educational institutions in the United States with collaborative or inter-campus E-Learning programs. More information... Virtual Grant Workshop Series (Higher Ed/Public & Cultural, K12) Last year, MAGPI hosted a joint interactive videoconference workshop with NEH to help MAGPI members explore the new digital humanities initiative. The event was so popular, that MAGPI will partner with various funding organizations over the 2007-2008 academic year to offer similar programs. This workshop series will be conducted entirely via H.323 videoconferencing and will be limited to a select number of sites. In addition to those who are interested in learning more about specific grant opportunities, we encourage those who have developed or partially developed projects to bring their ideas and questions to this two-hour session. More information will be available soon!
